When I tried to update yolink, why did I receive this message?

"Connection to the server could not be established. Please make sure you are connected to the internet."

You likely have an antivirus/firewall/security program installed that is configured to disallow running programs that require automatic connections to the internet. To remedy this situation, you need to add the name of the yolink update program (TLChunkItUpd.exe for Internet Explorer users or TLChunkItFirefoxUpd.exe for Firefox users on yolink version 1.1.0.0065 and prior) to the list of allowed programs in your antivirus/firewall/security program (see your antivirus/firewall/security program documentation for more information).

Why do I occasionally receive a message asking whether I want to allow 'TLChunkItUpd' to connect to the internet? This occurs regardless of whether I am currently using yolink

yolink provides automatic updates to its software. To provide automatic updates, the yolink service (TLChunkItUpd) occasionally verifies whether any updates are available by connecting to the internet. However, if you have an antivirus/firewall/security program installed that is configured to disallow automatic connections to the internet, you will receive this message to verify whether or not you want to allow the connection.

To allow the check for updates to continue, respond appropriately to allow this process to connect to the internet.

I received a message that new updates are available for yolink. After selecting to install the updates, why did I receive a message asking whether I want to allow 'Java(TM) Platform SE Binary' to connect to the internet?

yolink provides automatic updates to its software. To apply automatic updates, the Java service (Java(TM) Platform SE Binary) downloads and installs new updates by connecting to the internet. However, if you have an antivirus/firewall/security program installed that is configured to disallow automatic connections to the internet, you will receive this message to verify whether or not you want to allow the connection.

To allow the update process to continue, respond appropriately to allow this process to connect to the internet.

Why did I receive the following message?

"TigerLogic yolink encountered a problem downloading the update files. The process may have encountered a network issue or may have been blocked by firewall software."

yolink provides automatic updates to its software. To apply automatic updates, the Java service (Java(TM) Platform SE Binary) downloads and installs new updates by connecting to the internet. In some cases, you may receive this message because your internet connection was lost during the update. However, you may have received it because you have an antivirus/firewall/security program installed that has previously been configured to block the Java service from connecting to the internet.

To allow the Java service to connect to the internet, you need to unblock the Java service from your antivirus/firewall/security program. If you do not know how to unblock a service, see your antivirus/firewall/security program’s documentation or contact their customer support department.
