Searching with yolink
On any web page, hit the
button on your browser’s tool bar and the side bar will open. From here, you can type in any search terms into the yolink search box and hit
. Yolink will quickly go through the links on the page pulling out your key words in context.
The yolink results instantly populate in the yolink sidebar in tidy informational passages separated in boxes for each link or search engine result. All of your keywords will be highlighted with a different color used for each individual keyword. There are many ways to use the yolink results: Browsing your yolink results and/or Saving and Sharing yolink results.
Buttons on the yolink sidebar

Close yolink once you’ve found what you’re looking for.
Drag the border between the browser and the yolink sidebar to a desired size.
Hit the "Tools" button or arrow to expand or collapse the search tools.
The yolink sidebar is located on the left side of your browser but can be moved to the right side in Firefox. To do so hit the arrow next to the yo icon, select ‘Sidebar Display’ and select left or right side.
How to use yolink on any webpage
Yolink can be used on all sorts of web pages: any page with links or text, blogs, large documents, text books, databases, online reference manuals, etc. Yolink features two drop down menus to help you customize your search:
Scan the:
searches the links on the current web page. Default option.
searches the text on the surface of the page for your key words.
searches any manually highlighted selection of links.
searches the current yolink results for additional or new keywords.
& find:
finds the best possible results with an and/or search.
finds only paragraphs with all of your key words.
finds the exact phrase such as quotations or names.
finds any of your keywords in a paragraph.
Browsing your yolink results
Click any result in the yolink sidebar to open the web page containing that result. yolink will will automatically highlight the portion you’re looking for. You can also hover your mouse over any other yolink result to jump to the corresponding passage within the web page.

Don't worry if you haven't found what you're looking for on your first try, your results are not lost. You can browse thorugh the results on the sidebar and click in and out of different results until you find what you need.
Saving and Sharing Your Yolink Results

You can save your yolink results for future use to Google Docstm. However a Google Docs account is required. To save your results to Google Docs, simply click the Google Docs icon (
) from the top of the set of results to open the Google Docs screen. The first time you save your results you will be prompted to login to your Google Docs account or create a new one. Once this has been done, you will need to click the Google Docs icon (
) again to open the screen.
Links can be saved as new Google documents or appended to an existing Google document of your choice. They can be saved in Document or Spreadsheet formats.

Share yolink ![]()
You can share results via email or post them to a variety of popular blogs, research and social networking sites such as Facebook, Diigo, Twitter, Blogger and so on. You can also automatically create a citation from your yolink results by clicking on the EasyBib icon.

Uninstalling yolink
Google Chrome
- Type chrome://extensions in the address bar.
- Under the entry for yolink, click Uninstall.
For Windows 2003, XP Users:
- From the Windows Start Menu, open the Control Panel.
- Click Add or Remove Programs.
- Select TigerLogic yolink-Internet Explorer from the list of currently installed programs, then click Remove.
For Windows Vista Users:
- From the Windows Start Menu, open the Control Panel.
- Click Programs and Features.
- Select TigerLogic yolink-Internet Explorer from the list of currently installed programs, then click Uninstall.
For All Firefox Installations:
- Open Firefox.
- Select Add-ons from the Tools menu.
- Select TigerLogic yolink from the list of Add-ons, then click Uninstall.
- Click Restart Firefox.
